Welcome to the Coop! We are raising our best backyard chickens - Join us!

We are in the works of building out website so that we can share our journey raising our backyard chickens! When we started our flock we had a ton of questions and we had to figure it out along the way. We checked all sorts of websites, blogs and social media channels and learned a lot! We plan to share our knowledge and we hope you will too so that others can join us in this incredibly rewarding hobby!

Below you will find a video that shows our coop setup. We started with a coop we bought from Tractor Supply during their Chick Days event. We learned really quickly that we should have painted it BEFORE we put it together. So, if you are eyeing a wooden coop that you have to put together, we highly suggest painting the pieces first before you put it together. Also, coops that you can put together from a retailer often times have a lesser quality wood so painting and/or sealing will help keep it in good shape for a good amount of time. Our ultimate goal is to build our own coop from scratch but for now, this works and the girls seem to enjoy their covert coop!
